Transform Mid-Atlantic (TMA), Bowie State University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), Coppin State University, Morgan State University, Howard University, Delaware State University, and Virginia Commonwealth University are proud to host the 2026 HBCU CCE Conference - Good Trouble: Continuing the Legacy and Purpose of HBCUs, at Bowie State University on April 15 (Virtual) 5:00 pm - 7:00pm and - April 16 (in person) 9:00 am-3:30 pm, 2026.

🎤 Keynote Speaker: Dr. Kaye Wise Whitehead, Founder and Executive Director of The Karson Institute for Race, Peace and Social Justice, and Professor of African and African American Studies at Loyola University Maryland.

Guided by the spirit of “good trouble,” the conference will honor HBCUs’ legacy as engines of change, civic engagement, and cultural brilliance. As Amanda Gorman reminds us, “If only we are brave enough to be it.” Our charge is clear: to be the headlights and not the taillights, illuminating pathways toward equity, innovation, and community empowerment.
